About Me

Hm…A little about me, huh?  Well, okay.

I’m messed up.  But when you really think about it, who isn’t?

I’m single, 30 something who still acts like a kid sometimes.  When in the company of the right people of course.  I’m a book nut, a sometimes-writer, a shutter bug, an Otaku, and broadcasting is in my blood.

I can’t tell you who I am without telling you about my family.  My family is the most important thing in my life, for without them I wouldn’t be who I am.  I have many friends, but only a select few of them are close enough to be family.  And that’s only because they all have enough material to blackmail me. *grin*

My mother meant more to me than anyone in my life.  It’s because of watching her I was able to become the woman I am today.   I can only hope to one day be half the woman she was.  I will make her proud.

My father and I have had our issues, but we’re both stronger now because of it.  He’s my rock.  He’s everything that’s stable in my life.  He’s fought through some pretty crappy situations life handed him to give my mother the happy life she deserved, and the childhood I needed to flourish.  I will never be able to express to him how grateful I am for that.

My Aunt is my safe place.  There were only two people on this planet who could talk me down from a meltdown.  Mom was one, and my Aunt is the other.  She is the most patient, kind, and wise woman I know.  She has helped me out of so many tight spots, there I no way I will ever be able to repay her.  The only thing I will be able to do is someday, when a niece or nephew comes to me needing help, give it to them like she gave it to me.

My sisters…my insane sisters…Yes, I am an only child, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have sisters.  The four women who know me best…the ones who can blackmail me.  The only people I can truly be me around.  We come from different backgrounds and places, but we have so much in common.  My mother used to say that if the world acted more like we did, it’d be a much happier place.  A Christian, a Jew, a Pagan, and an Agnostic all walk into an Anime Convention…

So about me.  I am these people.  They shaped me into the person I am today.  They listen, they advise, and give me the occasional kick in the ass that I need to grow.  Without them, I am not me.  Because without our family, who are we really?
