It sucks when you’ve got stubby little legs and there’s five inches of fresh snow on the ground! Doesn’t make it very easy to got potty.
I don’t think Strider was too happy with me. I shoveled the sidewalk, but not the yard. How dare I?
There are some positives to working at a TV station that’s in the middle of a cornfield, 10 miles from town. There’s even more when you are working there when the sun rises. And when everything is covered in a half inch layer of ice, you get some lovely pictures.
Man…I haven’t posted in ages! And this past week has been insane. Storms, power outrages, no sleep, and HOT.
My air conditioner has issued another challenge…”I will not work!” My AC guy…”Challenge Accepted!”
The winner? Well…that has yet to be determined, but the (jerry-rigged) AC is still running. For now.
So, I was going to post last weekend, but I kinda got distracted by the tornado sirens going off in Pittsburg. Camping out in the bathroom with the frightened fuzzy-one is not fun. This happened the same night that Moore, OK got hit. Just a few hours after. Lost power for a few hours.
This damage is literally across the street and a few feet up the block from me. It was determined to be straight line winds only, thankfully. The storm also took out many of the trees at Schlanger Park, and the wall of a welding shop, both just a few blocks away. It was not pleasant. I haven’t heard winds like that since the Parsons tornado back in 2000.
And I had wanted to post these recipes last week, but as I said…I was a bit distracted. So, here they are now!
First: Chicken Noodle Casserole http://blogchef.net/chicken-noodle-casserole-recipe/
Then, cause I wanted something a tad healthier… Key Lime and Honey Winter Fruit Salad http://barefeetinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2013/02/key-lime-honey-winter-fruit-salad-recipe.html
Finally, I was watching this really cute video this evening… http://screen.yahoo.com/puppy-wakes-205914028.html and Strider got REALLY interested in the cute, yelping puppy.
Strider loves his car rides. There was severe weather in the area over the weekend, so I had to go and drive right into it, and of course, the Corgi got to come along.
Got some lovely pictures. I love thunderstorms.
And my favorite. I love the contrast in colors during storms. Especially when back-lit by the sun.
We’re going into my favorite time of the year. Spring. aka Severe Weather Season. People think I’m nuts…going out after these storms, but, I know how to chase. I work at a TV station, and I’m pretty sure my meteorologist friends/co-workers would smack me upside the head if I didn’t do it safely.
So expect pictures. Lots and lots of pictures of storms.
